Hi there! Thanks for coming to my page!
I was born and raised in Vietnam. I came to the United States in 2015 with my mother and sister. I finished highschool ( 1 year in Vietnam, a semester in uptown New York and 2 years in Queens, New York) in 2018. I attended CUNY John Jay of Criminal Justice for a semester. At this point, I realized that I had no sense of belonging. I just … wasn’t needed!
So I went home one day and told my mother: “I’m going to join the Marines.” Despite how much she thought I should have gone with the Air Force, I said once I make it, I will be proud of myself. Well, that is how I ended up on the West Coast. After transitioning out of the Marine Corps in 2022, I started in veterinary medicine as an ER/ICU assistant at a hospital in Shoreline, WA. After a year of working here, I realized that I wanted to become a veterinarian. I have been in school ever since!
I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s in Biology at University of Washington (Bothell). When I am not in class or doing my homework, you can find me with dogs, cats or horses. I work part-time as a veterinary assistant for a pet emergency hospital in Mount Vernon, WA. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to spend time with different animals throughout the weeks. I am also doing a research externship with a veterinary nutritionist for all kinds of animals.
In my free time, I like to snuggle with my dogs, Kit Kat and Grizzly. I try my best to keep them entertained as I have been chosen to be the emotional support human. Grizzly and I often do agility training to burn his calories. Meanwhile, Kit Kat and I often/always… snuggle.
